Finding Mossbrae Falls🌿

Hello Travelers,

This week, we’re heading deep into the lush, hidden corners of Northern California to discover a place that feels almost mythical—Mossbrae Falls.

Tucked away near the quiet town of Dunsmuir, Mossbrae isn’t your typical waterfall. Picture this: dozens of delicate streams cascading down a moss-covered basalt cliff, stretching over 150 feet wide. It’s like nature decided to paint a waterfall with a thousand brushes.

Getting There is Half the Adventure
Reaching Mossbrae Falls is part of what makes it so special. The informal trail runs about 1.2 miles along an active railroad track—so it’s not officially sanctioned and should be approached with care. (Good news: a safer, city-approved trail is in the works!) The payoff at the end? A tucked-away paradise that feels like your own private piece of wilderness.

Insider Tip
Head out in the late morning when the sun hits the water just right—illuminating the mossy walls and turning the whole canyon into a glowing green wonderland. Wear solid shoes, bring plenty of water, and don’t forget your camera.

Why We Love It
Mossbrae Falls is the kind of place that reminds us why we started Taaluma — to celebrate the world’s quiet wonders and carry a little piece of every place with us. Whether you're repping fabric from Guatemala, Ghana, or Vietnam, this is the kind of journey your tote was made for.

Happy Travels!
