Josephine - Kenya

Farming

A loan helped to pay for farm inputs such as seeds, and to hire labour in order for this borrower with a good credit standing to grow more crops on her crop farm and fuel her future.

Josephine's story

Meet Josephine, who is a 31-year-old borrower and smallholder farmer from a village in the Kenyenya area of Kenya. She started farming a few years ago on a small plot she acquired. On the farm, she has dairy cows and a small garden.

Josephine is seeking a 40,000 KES loan, which she will use to pay for farm inputs and to hire labour in order to grow more crops on the farm. It takes a lot for a smallholder farmer to risk limited resources to expand a farm business.

With your help, Josephine will be able to cover the high cost of farm inputs necessary for expansion. A significant portion of the profit will be reinvested back into the business to fuel its growth as she sets a good foundation for her family.

Her biggest dream is to build a modern house so that her family can live better and can stop worrying.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
