Sharon Kellett: I traveled to Agadir Morocco as a volunteer on an Operation Smile trip. I was there for one week May 16-24. We performed 103 cleft lip and cleft palette surgeries in three days. I am an RN and worked the night shift as a pre and post op nurse caring for the patients. As this was a work trip I didn’t get a lot of free time to explore. We did go to market (the souk), we also went to see the goats in the argon trees. The goats climb the trees and eat the fruit, spit out the seed, the farmers then gather the seeds to make the argon oil. This region is known for the argon oil as the trees only grow in this area in Morocco.
