Traditional fabric from Myanmar brought to you by traveler Aaron John.

"Yangoon, Myanmar: The Longyi is a traditional piece of clothing worn by men and women for everyday life in Myanmar. Even in the modern day capital of Yangoon, you will see most people wearing a Longyi, whether it is in the office or doing normal daily activities. Its very much a part of the national identity. This fabric (red and black) is a traditional Longyi style from the most northern state of Myanmar, named Kachin. The Kachin people dress mostly in black and red. In the market I visited, the fabric is sold in pieces cut for a sarong, so we had to buy many pieces, not just by the roll. It was fun hunting around the market for fabrics that were all the same design." —Aaron John
